Hydrogen Tryout Areal – South Africa

Die The European Union is committed to achieving the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The basis for this is the decoupling of economic growth from resource consumption. These goals can be achieved through innovation, collaborative and cross-company value creation. At the same time, securing fair prosperity and increasing the quality of life can be achieved.

The goal of the HyTrA project is to further advance the establishment of hydrogen technology. This proof shall be presented and realized by the interdisciplinary as well as international cooperation between partners from Germany and South Africa. Based on concrete problems, such as the self-sufficient energy supply but also the energy security of industrial companies, mobile and cost-effective hydrogen-powered energy sources – so-called micro-grids – are to be designed. As a result, collaborative value chains and potentials are to be formulated, which will then allow marketing and economically sustainable implementation in both countries. The project results will make an important contribution to the sustainability goals formulated by the UN.
